I ate another irish porridge for brecky and then later on i got a lime and lemon flavoured water,

DAY 1- Fitness regime and diet

Breakfast

Sigh- this is going to turn into a fitnes diary...

This will be a record of my journey to a proper ripped body. I am going to really try to get my belly toned into maybe a six pack. At the moment i am quite well built with a healthy looking body, i am not fat thanks to the irish genetics and not really eating alot. However my body is quite flabby at the moment and needs some tightening up.
I plan to start with the Stomach and work my way to the arms and then make my pecs super impressive too :)

Essex air ambulance

Who are they and where do they operate?

The air ambulance is an organisation with the sole purpose of providing a free life saving helicopter emergency medical service for the county of Essex. They provide a quick and helpful who operate in the south east of England.  

What is the most common callout for the service?

They get a great majority of trauma victims that are either children or young adults, it is the leading cause of disability and possibly death.

Is their service they provide a good one?

The essex air ambulance are equipped with a team of highly skilled doctors and paramedics who are on standby everyday 24/7. They understand that there expertise is vital to the survival of the patient as in their job every second counts.

How much does it cost?

On the whole the service is absolutely free to the tax payer, however it does cost to provide such a demanding service as this and it has found funding in many different ways. For instance their most common sources of finance are the local businesses and the donations from public appeals. They have however set up certain fundraising in order to further support the service.

How have they been raising money?

As I have already mentioned they are funded through public donations and local businesses however they also setup day events in order to fund it further; for instance they are holding a chocolate ball at the orsett hall hotel. Tickets are on sale now, so if you aren’t doing anything on the 26^th November; be sure to check that out. They have also got plans to hike to Italy next year, they will be trekking the legendary volcanoes: Vesuvius, Stromboli and also Mount Etna. You will be able to experience Italy at its utmost beauty and also raise money for a very good cause.

Newsletter adapting to sixth form life

After results day each and every student had a choice to further their education or take on an apprenticeship, I like many others opted for the education route and so far am glad that did.

The sixth form way of life is considerably different to that of lower school and is somewhat more enjoyable. There is a greater sense of maturity however it still feel somewhat comfortable and welcoming. A good amount of year 11 students still remain at Newport,  we are all hoping in one way or another to finish with grades of C or higher.

The A-level course seems to be somewhat more demanding; however given the fact that we have already been through the hell that is GCSE’s we should be a little more prepared for dealing with the workload and meeting all the deadlines. 

There are a number of privileges and responsibilities that come with being a sixth form student, for instance we know have a study room in which we can catch up on any work during our free periods. Free periods are also a privilege gained upon enrolment and they are a really helpful time to catch up on any homework we might not have been able to do and update any case study note.  As you enter the sixth form however you are seen to be a higher authority of the school and so are expected to take on certain duties around the school. For instance several people I know have already become prefects and this means they offer to do jobs such as being a line monitor during lunch and break.  There are also more profitable jobs specifically available to sixth formers, for example the schools cleaning service Knightingale cleaning, allow a certain group of willing sixth formers to clean up and they get paid a minimum wage for their services.

Although the sixth form ‘journey’ has only just begun the expectations of our year is very high and so let’s hope that the majority of the year are able to deliver.

Update. on life in general.

I have currently started a job working at my local pub and it is going very well i have earned £40 to date and used someof that to purchase the epic game battleifeld 3, which by the way is epic!
     Within the midst of all that madness i have also been writing for my schools  newsletter, which i am really proud of and is going really well. it is a joint effort between me and a coupls of other guys.
I will be keeping a regular update of the newsleter entries and will copy and paste them to the blog so you can get a good feel for what my writing style is like.

British shopping addiction

I -more against my own free will, than by choice- go shopping too much. I went out to the local big shopping arcades and it was packed! and it wasn't even raining the sun was shining yet people still feel tempted in these hard economic times to go and look at items that they probably wont be able to own and some that they aren't even interested in. i do seriously think though that anyone going for a shop should ask themselves are the items that i am going out to get of any use to me and are these items at all important.
      Marketing and the media play a massive part in this countries love of shopping because as we don't have the weather of Spain or France we Brits on the whole spend our time eating watching telly or going shopping. The big companies know this and so exploit shoppers willingness to be guided and tell them that it is vital they buy a morph suit for them their Nan and their cat.
      I guess a the weather does restrict us somewhat in terms of out door activities we can do however i don't think shopping should be used as a day filler.
Go Shop till you fucking drop but don't do it if it aint necessary :)

Battlefield beta blues.

So it is growing nearer to the end of the beta and i will be really sad to see it go, i have enjoyed it that much!  It is a spectacular game in all of its glory with real life sounds and extraordinary lighting effects. I know this game will be a milestone in the making of games and most definitely a COD killer.
  The map they have provided us with is small, however this is just a marketing pull to try and attract a more substantial amount of call of duty players. i am not too happy about this move on DICE's part. however, I understand that its vital to the games survival. I have played a considerable amount of the COD series in my time and have to say that i am now a complete Battlefield convert. I hope this happens with as many of the new player coming from that game to this.  
I am also enjoying the ease of access to the battle log its really handy for keeping up-to-date with what you and your friends are doing within the game.

Shawty blog. New Blog on the way!!

Not a lot happened today although i spent a lot of time trying to think of something to write about (unfortunately to no avail). I will probably start taking more photos with my camera and turn this blog into a sort of photography page as that's what a lot of people seem to do.
    I will be opening a second blog called 'News Buzz' i will be giving my views and opinions on the day to day news.i still want to put some time into this blog however 'News Buzz' will be more constantly updated.
   Again anyone wants to hear anything in particular let me know by leaving me a comment.

Job hunting,Future plans and trips of a lifetime…

( oh and a little bit about Dyspraxia)

Whilst waiting for my online success to take off, i needed a stable source of income in one sense or the other; so this summer I have set out to find any jobs in my local area. My trepidation has been somewhat of a failure however some of the pubs have said that it is possible for me to work their during ‘peak times’ during the WINTER!

     The real drive for my money making schemes is that I will be embarking on a grand trip to the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu. It will be an opportunity of a lifetime for me and the furthest and most foreign country I have ever visited, I wish I could set up a PayPal account; however age restrictions make this unachievable at this current time. I am planning on attaining a video camera for Christmas so that I may ‘vlog’ my trip and share my expedition with you.

     However, before i embark on that journey i am currently battling through the ever growing work load of year 12.  For most people it is a difficult task any way but i have a certain 'disability' known as dyspraxia. What this basically means is that i am unable to fully achieve the goals that i want to achieve. The doctors did say that i was only borderline although as stresses have increased what with GCSE's and family issues; it has become more difficult to construct myself properly in a physical environment and i believe the problem has become more prominent.

31 Centigrade in October!?!?!


What makes this a lot weirder is that it is happening in Britain, yeah that's right rainy grey overcast England. Luckily for me it is going on during a long weekend which means enjoying it is slightly easier than if i were at school. It is kind of funny because i remember that nutter from america who said the end of the world was coming-no not him, the other one-its odd because after he was proved wrong by common sense, he said that "this day up until the end of the year would be hell for mankind, so if this is gods idea of hell then everybody should continue to sin.

       Although, as luck would have it i have developed a horrid cold, i got a runny nose and aching joints but hey ho on-wards and upwards. I'm not going to let a virus stop me enjoying my self with a smile on my face and a can of coke nothing else matters. 

    I live in a relatively safe and secure part of England and like to get out into the country as much as possible, while i cant really run at all i do like to go for a cycle quite regularly. As you get older your physical fitness becomes more important and its something i have just started to realise, however i don't think i would ever let my fitness come in the way of my loving of 'fatty foods',   I have a good metabolism though and i do not consume a massive amount of bad foods so obesity is not something i am massively worried about.

Well i better get off this laptop before it starts raining again. :)

Sixth form bite

Sixth form BITE!

 Sixth form for the Americans and other people that don't know what on earth sixth form is, it is a version of college which is attached to high school. So when you finish i think its11th grade instead of going off to a place which is separate from high school, you can go to a high school and study college level courses called A-levels but that a whole other kettle of fish.Its been two weeks now into my sixth form life and i must say the work load in comparison in previous years is incomparable  I did not expect this level of work straight away however i am going to attempt it to the best of my abilities and hopes for a decent final out come.
       Meanwhile outside of the formalities of sixth form i have just this instant been enjoying the wondrous delights of the BF3 Multi-player Beta, and delights they certainly were. Although there is only one map and game mode, it is a massive map with several twists and turn and breathtaking french scenery. The lighting and sound effects are more impressive than the graphics, with blinding torchlight's and reflecting bullets being captured in beautiful High Definition. Graphics while revamped and different from anything on the market, they don't say WOW! more Yeah these graphics are really nice. However, this is a game that is in its beta infancy and i have only played the multi-player so i am hoping the single player is more impressive graphically.
  This is going to be a short bloggy as i am unable to get inspiration at this moment in time but i will see what comes to me in the future. :)

Film, books and other stuff...

Films, Books and other stuff....


So i went to hear the film critic from radio five live talk about his new book "The good, The bad and the multiplex", i really enjoyed it as i am a relatively new listener to their podcast (only dabble in it but a good listen) i didn't quite manage to followeverything he was talking about. The speech he gave was enjoyable with funny and lines and the inevitable member of the audience searching for the spotlight.
    For those of you that dont know Mark kermode at all he is a guy that speaks about his feelings towards films that he has been invited to watch, basically he watches the bad stuff in the hope that you wont. I agree with alot of his views on cinema however he may over do the centimentality just slightly. Most of the films today are like Mcdonalds pumped full of bad stuff and easy to digest, although the after effects are somewhat unpleasent.
 After his 'rant', he then decided to ask us the audience whether we had any questions for him. There was one woman in particular who decided that she was not happy with just asking a question, she felt she deserved longer in the spotlight. She was constantly rambling on about being a doctor on a plane or something until she finally asked "my son said he saw an articl that said any films with smoking in them will be immediately rated an 18 film, is this right and why?" Kermode and herself chatted for abit about the topic until Mark asked the woman "do you smoke?" to which she replied with a shrug of the shoulder and a caless voice "Oh sorry short moment of alzhiemers". Mark Kermode had just made a very strong on point on the negativities of smoking-of which there are many!-and i think she was trying to be somewhat defensive, however it just made her look worse.  The main gripe that personally had with this woman was not that she was acting kind of self important, but more that she took so long to ask a very simple question.
The final part to the evening was the book signing and no disrespect to Mark because he seems like a very decent guy but we were one of the first in the queue which meant that we did not have to wait to long to get to meet him get the book signed.

I have just entered a very important time in my education. A levels have sparked many ideas about what careers i may want to pursue in the future. The courses i have taken are Double business applied and media studies each subjects lending both blend meaning that i can transfer my knowledge of business and marketing to aid me in my media studies.
      The career i am most interested in perusing at the moment is journalism, it seems like an interesting job in which i think i would do quite well. I would not mind writing for any type of magazine or company however i would love to write about games and the gaming world.
      I managed to achieve a B grade in English lit which i see as a huge achievement for some one with a B prediction. 
      Although i have only just started blogging, i believe i have always been able to convey my thoughts and feelings on topics in a way that is easy to understand and digest. I just need to keep practising so that i can write more weighty pieces on the subjects i am interested in. 
If anybody would be interested in replying to this blog and giving me any tips or advice on how i could possibly improve these blogs and i would much appreciate any feedback from actual journalists?
I will submit another blog as soon as possible but until thank you for reading and feedback is much obliged.

First day at sixth form!! :O

So i have just got the grades i need to get into the sixth form however i was unable to get the right grades to let me do the subjects i wanted to do. i was stuck with doubled business applied and media studies.

      It was a day of great trepedition and trebulation, i entered the sixth form common room for the first time and it felt welcoming, although i did not enjoy feeling like the new kid after spending so long at the 'top' of the school.
My first period was a 'free' or study period however as i had just started i spent the whole hour tryna work how the hell i was going to survive the next 2 years. My first lesson was Business and to be honest it was a good introduction to the AS course. It is a course that is taught by three different teachers; two of them teaching the exam part of the curriculum and the other teaching the coursework section.
 To start we had one of the exam teacher s and she was good and quite helpful. we learnt about customers and what it means to be a customer. oh and also who prvides the customers wth a good/service.
after two hours of business seperaterd by break time i spent a good 3 hours enjoying another 3 free periods. -_-. The first day was ery much like Year 7 again, as you are the new kid once again in an environment which you are not familiar with and customs that you are also not familiar with.
Oh and on the first wear a smart and simple outfit, for instance a shirt and tie and you cant go far wrong.
